Waste Disposal Installation

A food waste disposer is a must-have appliance for any modern kitchen. A waste disposer from companies including InSinkErator® or WasteMaid doesn’t just offer practical, contemporary convenience, it also provides an environmentally responsible answer to the growing problem of food waste.

This is the easy way to deal with food waste disposal. Fitted easily and discreetly under the sink, a waste disposer effortlessly grinds food waste into tiny particles that are automatically flushed away down a standard kitchen drain into the local waste treatment system or a septic tank.

Food Waste Disposal Installation, What is Involved?

  • We will first check under your sink to make sure your new waste disposal will fit the area and sink, and turn off the water to your sink.
  • This project depends on existing electrical access under the sink. We will verify that there is adequate electrical access, and turn off the electricity at the circuit breaker.
  • We will pry the snap ring off the sink flange of your new waste disposal, which will allow the entire waste disposal mounting assembly to come apart, so that we can work with each of the components in the correct order.
  • If the waste disposal should be attached to the dishwasher, we will prepare the waste disposal to be connected, and then install the mounting ring and snap ring.
  • Next, we will connect the electrical wires and mount the waste disposal under the sink.
  • Finally, we will attach the drain lines to the waste disposal, and finish the waste disposal assembly by tightening all the connections and cleaning up.

What do I need to do before my appointment?
Before your waste disposal installation appointment, please have on hand the waste disposal you purchased, including all screws and other pieces that came with it. If the job isn’t a standard waste disposal installation project, and requires additional parts or labour to complete the service, additional fees may apply to cover the cost of the waste disposal parts and the waste disposal installation work.

Why use us to install your food waste disposer
Installing a waste disposal involves tapping into your home’s plumbing and electrical systems, and both systems need to be handled correctly to safely install your waste disposal. We have the experience to handle the job in 2 or 3 hours—or maybe even less. Attempting a waste disposal installation without any training will likely take at least double the time required for a professional to install the waste disposal. In addition to this we will have all the tools available and access to additional parts if required.

We currently offer a waste disposal installation service within Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham & Doncaster. Other areas may be available soon. Please register your interest via our Enquiry Form.

But I need help with product specification
It is important that you specify the correct product for the job. If you are unsure we recommend that you contact the relevant manufacturer before purchase. Alternatively please submit details including photographs via our Enquiry Form where one of our technicians will be able to advise, suggesting suitable products or producing you a bespoke quotation for both supply and installation.  You can buy Food Waste Disposal units here.
