How do I know Bumfords are a trusted installer?

Do your engineers carry Identification?

When our team arrives at your home, they will be wearing an official Bumfords shirt with an embroidered logo and they will also wear a GAS SAFE lanyard to show their qualification and photo ID.

How can I identify your vehicles?

All of the Bumford vehicles have the official logo and details on them, here is an example of what to expect!


Do you tidy up afterwards?

We certainly do! Before we enter your home, our team will wear disposable plastic shoe covers to minimise the disruption to your home.

Then before conducting any work, our team will place dust sheets and other products they need to make sure that there will be a minimum amount of disruption and mess to your home. At the end of the visit, our team will also clean up any mess they have made, returning your home back to the way it was as if our team was never there!

Can I book a boiler service online?

Yes, you can! Using our handy online booking form you can easily book and pay for a boiler service. Once the booking request has been made our friendly team will give you a call back to confirm the details you have provided.

How do I pay?

If you have a bill that needs to be paid, you can call our friendly team on 01226 749300 to make the payment or you can bank transfer using the details that will be on your invoice.

Are Bumfords OFTEC registered?
Are Bumfords Worcester Bosch accredited installers?

For over 10 years Bumford Heating Ltd has been a Worcester Accredited Installer, having installed and serviced thousands of Worcester Bosch boilers.

As trained Worcester Accredited Installers (WAIs) Bumford’s are accredited to install Worcester boilers, solar water heating, and heat pumps to the highest standard.

Are Bumfords Gas Safe Registered? (previously CORGI)

Yes, we are! All of our staff are Gas Safe Registered (which replaced CORGI) and our registered number is 13364. GSR operates on behalf of the relevant health and safety authority and is the official list of gas businesses and qualified gas engineers that work for those businesses. As required by law, GSR ensures only those qualified engineers are licensed to legally work on gas.

Will I be provided with a certificate warranty after work is completed?

What happens when my home is surveyed?

Our engineers or sales engineers will have already pre-arranged a convenient date and time in which to survey your property. We will attend your home, providing ID. We will wear protective shoe coverings. While within your property, we will discuss with you your requirements. We will examine your existing system and infrastructure and work with you to design a bespoke solution.

I can't afford a new boiler, what can I do?

We understand that money isn’t always available when you need it most, but when things break and they need to be replaced, we sometimes struggle to find the best option.

What brands do we install?

Bumford’s supply and install a wide range of boilers from leading brand manufacturers including Worcester-Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Vokera, Baxi and Glowworm.

Do you have a showroom?

Yes, we do! Our showroom offers the latest and greatest in heating system technology, with smart thermostats and radiators available for you to view, you can also pop down to see the first boiler that was installed by Bumfords.

Do I need to be at home when the installation takes place?

The choice is yours. There will be some disruption within the home and some people choose to leave the property for the duration of any work. Our engineers are used to working within occupied properties and are respectful of your home and personal space, so being present while our engineers are working is something we are used to.

What is the lead time from quote acceptance until installation?

When exactly will the engineer arrive?

Our team will give a time of the engineer’s arrival when the booking has been confirmed, but if you’re worried about the time that had been given feel free to give our team a call on 01226 749300 to confirm or change the prearranged time.

Boilers & Heating Systems:

How long will it take to install my new heating system?

Installing a new heating system is a very precise and skilled process, the length of time it takes is dependent on a few factors. These can include the age of your home, the condition of your existing heating system and other elements that can extend or shorten the installation.

But our team can always provide an estimated time for the completion of the project upon request.

What disruption will there be to my home when you are installing my system?

We will always try to minimise the disruption to your home, but there may be elements out of our control. If there will be anything other than minimal disruption, we will always talk you though what needs to be done.

How often do I need to have my boiler serviced?

It’s important to have your boiler services for a number of reasons, a few major points being to keep the efficiency of the boiler high and the potential to notice any issues your heating system may be having.

How much is a boiler service?

The boiler is an integral part of the home and we recommend a yearly service to keep your boiler in top shape, the cost of a standard boiler service is £79.99. You can call our team within office hours or you can book a service online by clicking here.

Can I book an annual gas boiler service?

Booking an annual boiler service with Bumfords couldn’t be easier! Call our friendly team on 01226 749300 and we will be able to add you to our system to receive reminders for when your boiler is due for a service.

How long does it take to service a boiler?

We estimate that a normal boiler service will take around one hour and thirty minutes, but in the unlikely event we run into any problems or issues, it may take longer than normal.

What does a powerflush do?

Powerflushing is a process to remove sludge and any build-up in the boiler and heating, using a power flushing unit sends water throughout your central heating system at a high velocity to dislodge any build-up you may have.

How long does a powerflush take?

The time it takes to powerflush a home may vary depending on the size of your home and the how many radiators your home has. But our team aim to be complete within a day.

Do you install underfloor heating?

Yes, we do! Bumfords are specialists in the installation of underfloor heating systems including any boiler or renewable heating system to be used in conjunction with the underfloor heating system. We also offer an underfloor heating repair and maintenance service for existing underfloor heating systems.

Do you repair underfloor heating?

Yes, we do! Like any other appliance, we understand that things break down or don’t work as efficiently as they used to. Alongside installations, our team of expert engineers are able to repair and maintain underfloor heating systems to keep your system in tip-top shape! With years of combined experience, our engineers can apply themselves to resolve any issues you may have.

Do I need to have my unvented cylinder serviced?

Yes, much like a boiler, we recommend servicing your unvented cylinder annually to identify any issues or problems that your system may be having.

My boiler has been condemned, what do I do?

If your boiler has been condemned, you should NOT use the boiler again until it has been deemed safe by a Gas Safe engineer.

If you find yourself in a situation where your boiler has just been condemned, call our team to organise a callout and we will try our hardest to get it back on its feet and working. In the event that we cannot get the boiler working again, our team will provide a range of solutions to get your heating system back up and working.

Should I replace my boiler?

If you maintain your boiler you can expect a good 15 years’ worth of service out of your appliance. An annual boiler service will help to ensure that your boiler remains as efficient and safe as possible for your central heating system. But remember, the older your boiler, the harder it will be working to heat your home.

Can you replace biomass boilers?

Yes, we can! With the sharp increase in oil and fossil fuel prices, it would make sense to change to an eco-friendlier way to heat your home. Biomass boilers are a popular alternative to traditional boilers as they have the ability to burn sustainably sourced wood pellets. Using wood as a replacement for fossil fuels is a helpful way to prevent long-term climate change, but our team is noticing a trend amongst our customers. Our team is finding that some are actually changing from their Biomass boilers back to a conventional gas boilers!

Are electric boilers efficient?

Electric Boilers have many advantages over gas or oil boilers, as the world advances, electric boilers are becoming more and more efficient. As we all look towards more renewable energy, electric boilers don’t burn fossil fuels and have the capability to be connected to solar panels. Electric boilers also have no risk of carbon monoxide leaks making them safer for your home.

Are you able to install Solid Fuel Appliances?

Do you install hydrogen ready boilers?

With Worcester Bosch leading the way for boiler innovation, back in 2020 they revealed a 100% hydrogen-ready prototype that was on its way to becoming commonplace in every household in the UK. With boiler technology rapidly advancing, Bumfords will be on the frontline to install hydrogen-ready boilers as soon as they come on the market.


Can you supply and install designer radiators?

Yes, we certainly can! Being in the plumber’s industry, we have a wide range of contacts including some of the UK’s leading brands of designer radiators including Zehnder, Reina, TowelRads and more!

As well as installing and maintaining boilers, our highly experienced engineers can install any radiator including electric, dual fuel and central heating!

Do you install heat pumps?

With eco-friendly options available to heat your home, air-source heat pumps are becoming more and more popular, they are becoming one of the better choices to heat your home.

Currently, the Bumfords team isn’t able to install heat pumps, but the technology in modern boilers is highly efficient and is upwards of 92-94% efficiency ErP (A-Rated).

We definitely can! With the world constantly evolving and improving, there are a lot of options when it comes to controlling your home’s heating. Bumfords are at the forefront of modern home automation and smart devices/controls. Designing & Quotations:

Can you provide instant quotations?

Sadly not, as a bespoke and highly personal business we don’t believe in instant quotes. When it comes to planning and preparing a project for your home, we believe it is the best practice to visit your home and get to know you as a customer to see what the best options are for you.

In some instances, we are able to provide a quote without visiting your home. But this is dependent on the type of work that needs to be conducted and if there are enough photos or videos of your home for our team to work from.

Do I need a carbon monoxide alarm?

Carbon monoxide is an invisible, toxic gas that is odourless and colourless and can be difficult to detect sometimes. Carbon monoxide is generated from a boiler and a leak is a common side effect of a blocked flue or faulty appliance, but a simple way to detect a leak is through the use of a carbon monoxide detector.

Since the 1st of October 2022, it is a legal requirement for all homes to have a CM detector in any room that contains a fixed combustion appliance.

Yes, we can! One of the many skills our team has is bathroom installations, as well as providing heating solutions. We are able to obtain and install a range of bathroom suites and bathroom products.
