Commercial and point-of-use hot water
Water-heater solutions for working premises
Installation and replacement of suitable electric storage, instantaneous, point-of-use, boiling-water and selected gas-fired water-heating equipment.
More than one kind of water heater
The right solution depends on demand and use
A staff-kitchen sink, washroom hand basin, busy salon and commercial hot-water system do not need the same equipment. Selection must account for how much water is required, how quickly, at what temperature and at which outlets.
Bumfords supplies and installs suitable products following an assessment of the building, services and intended use. Our work with electric storage heaters is selective and installation led rather than an unrestricted repair service.
Equipment types
Different routes to usable hot water
These categories describe possible solutions rather than an automatic commitment to install every product or configuration.
Electric storage water heaters
Compact stored hot-water units for suitable point-of-use and small commercial applications where a defined quantity of heated water is needed.
Installation availability is limited and assessed individually.Instantaneous electric heaters
Water heated as it is drawn, subject to the outlet demand, required flow and temperature rise, electrical load and manufacturer requirements.
Electrical supply suitability must be confirmed.Under-sink & over-sink units
Localised hot-water provision for selected sinks and basins where a central stored system is unnecessary, impractical or too remote.
Space, discharge and servicing access matter.Wall-mounted boiling-water units
Stored boiling-water appliances for staff kitchens and workplace refreshment areas, selected around capacity, recovery and daily demand.
Suitable Heatrae Sadia and other established products considered.Boiling-water tap systems
Selected under-counter and tap-based solutions for workplaces seeking convenient boiling or filtered drinking water from a dedicated system.
Products may include suitable Zip solutions.Commercial gas water heaters
Selected gas-fired storage or instantaneous water-heating projects where the appliance, flue, ventilation, gas supply and commercial scope are suitable.
Site assessment and appropriate competence are required.Typical applications
Designed around the building—not just the unit
Water heating can support washing, hygiene, staff welfare, food preparation and customer-facing activities. Capacity and recovery should reflect real use, including periods of peak demand.

Before equipment is selected
What the assessment needs to establish
A familiar manufacturer or apparently similar replacement is not enough. The proposed unit must suit the demand, supplies, outlets and installation environment.

Established product ranges
Manufacturers considered around the application
Depending on the requirement, Bumfords may supply and install suitable water-heating and drinking-water products from established manufacturers.
Typical categories include electric storage water heaters, instantaneous equipment, wall-mounted boiling-water units and selected boiling or filtered tap systems.
From requirement to quotation
A clear route before installation
All installations and replacements are survey and quotation dependent. Existing equipment installed by another company may be considered, but acceptance depends on what is required and whether the product and site fall within our scope.
Describe the use
Tell us about the premises, outlets, demand and current arrangement.
Check suitability
We assess services, equipment information, photographs and likely scope.
Inspect where needed
A site visit establishes access, demand, supplies and installation constraints.
Confirm the proposal
The suitable product, work included, exclusions and price are set out clearly.

Water-heater FAQs
Questions before you enquire
Send the equipment details and site information if your requirement is not covered.
Do you install electric storage water heaters?
Yes, on a limited and selective basis. The unit, capacity, electrical supply, discharge arrangements, location and intended use must be assessed before we commit.
Do you install instantaneous electric water heaters?
Yes, for suitable applications. Performance depends on the available electrical supply, required flow, incoming water temperature and desired outlet temperature.
Can you install under-sink and over-sink water heaters?
Yes. Bumfords can install suitable small point-of-use units where the product, space, electrical supply, pipework and discharge arrangements are appropriate.
Do you install commercial gas-fired water heaters?
Yes, selected gas-fired commercial water-heating installations can be considered. The appliance, gas supply, flue, ventilation, building and wider scope must first be assessed.
Can you install wall-mounted boiling-water equipment?
Yes. Suitable wall-mounted boiling-water units and selected tap-based boiling-water systems can be specified for offices, staff kitchens and similar commercial applications.
Do you repair water heaters installed by another company?
Potentially, but this page is primarily installation and replacement focused. We need the manufacturer, model, age, symptoms and photographs before confirming whether existing equipment falls within our scope.
Can you give a standard installation price?
No. Product capacity, services, access, pipework, electrical or gas work and site conditions differ. Installation and replacement prices are survey and quotation dependent.
